Congratulations to the Your Memphis Contest Winners

Several months ago we were looking for ways that we could show some of the positive aspects of our great city that seem to get lost in the daily news reports of crime, elections, and economic turmoil. Regardless of what we see or hear every day, there are always great things to talk about in our city. Our challenge was how to do that. In the midst of the negative news, how could we spark conversations about all of the great things Memphis and the surrounding areas have to offer?

We answered that challenge with another challenge of sorts – a challenge to the residents of our communities to show us what they love about Memphis. Because no matter where you live, the pieces that come together to make that home are different for each of us.

More than 50 people answered our challenge and took the time to showcase their own piece of Memphis. From serious to funny, from literal to abstract, each entry we received was an individual look at how differently each of us sees the city we call home. Once again we say thanks to each of you who created a video and entered the contest.

With the exception of the Viewership Prize, all prizes were awarded based on the scores each entry received from our panel of judges. Each judge reviewed and scored each entry on three separate, equally weighted criteria: relevance to the contest theme, creativity, and entertainment value. Prizes were awarded to entries receiving the highest scores by our judges and entries from individuals affiliated with MAAR were only eligible for the one REALTOR® prize. Special thanks to our three judges: MAAR members Neil Hubbard and Joe Spake and from On Location Memphis, Rick O’Brien. We truly appreciate your time and dedication to carefully screening all entries.
